Pushing Film / June

$420.00

Pushing Film is the intermediate black and white film photography course at The School of Light which advances the applications and methods of film photography introduced in the foundation class Into the Dark.

Students will be introduced to advanced techniques in film handling and monochrome printing, such as push-processing, print toning, and photograms and study the work of some of the great photographers who have pushed the boundaries of the medium.

Classes will work with varied papers, formats and chemistry to further explore many of the key facets that have made film and printed photographs such an influential cultural and artistic language.

Our small classes allow one on one instruction and ensure that each student expands their knowledge of the craft of darkroom work, alongside an enhanced appreciation of the art of black and white photography as a creative force.

Students need to bring their own non-digital film camera and film.

Class duration: six weeks
Thursday evenings 7 - 10pm
June 01 - July 06, 2017

Venue: 1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90007
